As we look back at 2025, one thing was crystal clear: umbrellas aren’t going anywhere. If anything, they’re becoming even more relevant.

We've seen plenty of moments this year where umbrellas really mattered, situations where everyday clients ran into unexpected twists and didn't think their coverage would even come into play.

Let's take a look at what we learned in 2025 and how Monoline is setting up agents for success in 2026!

Carriers Are Tightening Up Auto Requirements

One of the biggest changes we saw in 2025 was carriers tightening their guidelines on underlying auto coverage requirements. Some are now increasing required underlying limits before they'll issue an umbrella policy.

Monoline will still write over $250/$500/$100 limits, giving you flexibility with your clients. And with these major market changes, agents are saving 2-3 hours per policy by enrolling in our SimpleSwitch program.

Auto Claims Keep Rising but We're Staying Ahead of It

As auto claims continue to rise, Monoline’s MVR scoring helps ensure driving-related risk is accurately reflected at quoting, reducing surprises at bind

The Asset-Liability Gap Your Clients Don't See

Many households underestimate their need for umbrella coverage simply because they haven't checked in on how their assets have grown while liability limits stay the same.

At Monoline, agents can easily bridge those gaps using our fast, simple quoting experience. You can show clients the protection they need without a complicated process getting in the way.

Navigating a Tightening Market Together

Rates are continuing to rise while overall capacity is shrinking across the umbrella market. It's a challenging market, but Monoline will be here for you in 2026!

Personal umbrella coverage isn't an add-on with Monoline, it's our core focus. This lets us tailor coverage to today's liability risks and share our expertise with you when you need it most.

What's Next: Even More Support!

In 2026, Monoline will be providing more education designed to help agents navigate risk and the conversations that come with them.

The umbrella world may be moving fast, but at Monoline we're staying grounded in what matters most: putting agents first, while having some fun together doing it!

We're excited for what we're building next. Stay tuned 👀
